VoltHop ("we," "us," or "our") is an e-bike battery sharing app developed by Soonk. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the VoltHop mobile application on iOS and Android.

By using VoltHop you agree to this policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Account information — email address and display name when you sign up (via email/password, Google sign-in, or Apple sign-in).
• Profile details — profile photo (optional) and phone number (optional, used so renters and suppliers can contact each other).
• Bike and battery listings — bike model information, battery availability dates, daily rental prices, and pickup location details that suppliers choose to share.

Information collected automatically:

• Location data — with your permission, we access your device's location to show nearby battery suppliers on a map. You can revoke location access in your device settings at any time.
• Authentication tokens — Firebase Authentication tokens used to keep you signed in securely.
• Push notification tokens — device tokens generated by Expo Push Notifications so we can send you rental request updates and other app notifications.

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Third-Party Services

VoltHop relies on the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:

• Firebase Authentication — handles sign-in via Google, Apple, or email/password. Firebase Privacy
• Firebase Firestore — stores account data, listings, and rental requests.
• Firebase Cloud Storage — stores profile photos and bike photos you upload.
• Google Maps / Google Places API — powers the map view and location search. Google Privacy Policy

When you choose to contact another user, communication happens through external apps (WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, or SMS). We do not host, store, or have access to those messages.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Firebase servers hosted by Google, primarily in the United States. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and Firebase's built-in security rules to protect your information. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.

6. Your Rights

All users can:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Update or correct your information through the app's profile settings.
• Delete your account and associated data by contacting us.
• Opt out of push notifications through your device settings.
• Revoke location access through your device settings.

7. Additional Rights for California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
• Delete your personal information (subject to certain exceptions).
• Opt out of the sale of personal information — we do not sell your personal information.
• Non-discrimination — we will not treat you differently for exercising your CCPA rights.

8. Additional Rights for Users in the European Economic Area (GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under GDPR:

• Legal basis for processing — we process your data based on (a) your consent (e.g., location data), (b) performance of a contract (providing the app service), and (c) our legitimate interests (improving the app, preventing abuse).
• Right to access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification — correct inaccurate personal data.
• Right to erasure — request deletion of your data.
• Right to restrict processing — ask us to limit how we use your data.
• Right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our third-party service providers (Firebase/Google) operate. By using VoltHop, you acknowledge this transfer. For EEA users, these transfers are covered by Google's standard contractual clauses.

10. Children's Privacy

VoltHop is not intended for anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 16, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you through the app. Continued use of VoltHop after changes means you accept the updated policy.
